In the mean time there are still multiple ways you can help out. Nothing is too small. You can donate food and/or clothing, provide a cash donation or simply share our site and encourage others to either donate or participate. Your support, contributions and participation will enable us to improve living conditions for those in need around our community.
{we accept cash donations year round, all proceeds will go towards future drives}
*all cash donations will go towards supplementing the original donations with additional food and clothing. If you are unable to donate, sharing this website is another fantastic way you can help!*

My name is Kali. I grew up in the town of Oakville and am currently a communications student at Wilfrid Laurier University, living in Waterloo. I had a very fortunate childhood, never having to worry about the power going out or where my next meal would come from. I've always had a roof over my head and clothes on my back.
While I have lived a life of privilege, I have seen people face real struggles. At an early age this opened my eyes to the reality that not everyone has the luxury of feeling the same comfort that I do. Every day we pass by people who do not have the basic day-to-day necessities that we have and often take this for granted.
Early in life, I encountered people around me who actively struggled with addiction. Addiction is a difficult illness for most people to grasp.
Regardless of how much of how much school taught us about addiction, seeing someone struggle with addiction only becomes real, when it is someone close to you.
Addiction is an illness, a disease that effects ones brain. Not a behavioral issue or a result of "poor decisions".
Addiction is misunderstood by most. Those who are suffering from it may feel ashamed to ask for help. Those who have the ability to help may choose to turn a blind eye and become distanced from a loved one. Addiction and mental illnesses commonly go hand-in-hand and can, at times, lead to homelessness. For that reason, I want to show those in need, that there are people who care. This desire insired "Our Love In The Park" - providing a chance for people to show they care for others.
September 17th, 2022, we hosted our first in-person food and clothing drive in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. There were over 350 lbs of clothing donated, and over $1000 was raised.
October 21st, 2023, we hosted our second food and clothing drive, again in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. There was over 650 lbs of clothing donated and over $900 was raised.
This past fall (November 2nd, 2024) we hosted out third in person clothing drive in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. There was over 900 lbs of clothing donated and distributed right to the hands of those in need.
Our mission was/is to bring the community together while also sharing and showing our love to those in need.
All information you need about donating can be found below.
Did you know that it is estimated that approximately 35,000 Canadians experience homelessness on any given night, and at least 235,000 Canadians are homeless in any given year.
Did you know that in Toronto alone there is estimated to be 8,500 people experiencing homelessness day-to-day, and over 25% struggle with active addiction.
Did you know that a lot of the time when people do try to get help, they are often released from hospitals and facilities without proper community support or any sort of plan in place further contributing to relapse and homelessness.
